I'm hoping I installed this correctly. Anyways, I got this idea from the lovely Shweta from The Book Journal, since she recently installed a new commenting system and encouraged me to try it out as well. I love how this system will allow me to respond to comments individually, instead of me going in a whole long list at the end of the post that gets really messy and icky. Comments are one of my favorite parts of blogging, and I want to give each of them their due attention.

I think I'll go for a trial run of one to two weeks and see how it turns out.

If it gives me or you huge headaches/angst I'll just uninstall it. But this'll be an experiment of sorts :)

And if for some reason it's totally not working and you can't comment here, email me at chocowrites@gmail.com. Ooh and are there any glitches you notice, feel free to point them out. I'll do my best to fix it.

UPDATE: I installed this commenting system from IntenseDebate. Go check it out if you liking it. And I just enabled the commentluv feature, which will display your latest post if you fill it out. It's nice getting to be so interactive and also getting to spread link love :D

Hey there! I was wondering, did you install this using widget or implementing it through HTML coding? Cause I tried the HTML route earlier and failed :( Not sure what I did wrong, seriously.

I first tried it the widget way, but that didn't work since I guess my template is modified (I edited the HTML to add 3 columns a long time ago). So I tried the HTML and that wasn't that hard...just make sure to save your template and follow the instructions!

Eh. I'm really bad at explaining technological stuff. Maybe try again? I tried like 4-5 times before it installed right, haha.

Shy it doesn't work with a few html codes I guess. That's why people have problem with it. But the widget thing didnt work for me. HTML did. Try it on a test blog.

Yeah for the new system. Get a Gravatar girl! That way you can get ur pic in your profile. Get for the name and email u use while commenting everywhere :)

Try it out Staysi! It's really not that hard to install. I really DON'T know anything about HTML, I just followed the instructions. And they have a widget option if you don't want to go the HTML way. :)

haha! Well, I just tried this out on my blog and also on a test blog, and um, there's nothing happening. I followed the instructions...and still nothing. Usually I can figure out basic html, and you don't even need that here - you just have to follow the instructions. *scratches head* Feeling kinda stupid here! I guess I'll try again...

Maybe compose a new post and see if it's working?

It won't work on any of your old posts, if that's what you're looking at. The commenting system only kicks in on posts you do after you install. Maybe that's it? :)

Nope. Already tried it. When I try to install the new html I'm told that the code is broken and can't install. It's probably something really simple that I'm missing, so I'll just try it again when I'm not so frustrated with it all. Thanks for the help! :)

Yep, you can set it up so it emails you when you get new comments on your blog. It's almost creepy in the level you can keep up with comments---you can follow other users comments and subscribe to a post's comments and everything.

Definitely get it! :D

one of the issues I do have with blogger is the inability to reply lol

Oooh, new comments thingie. It's pretty cool! I know what you mean about commenting back on what other people said. I usually just go directly to their site and comment on their latest post. xD

It's true. A LOT of parents in YA lit. are conveniently absent/dead/missing in action while their teenage children are off making out or saving the world (not in that order necessarily but you get my point..) You're right in that it gives the author something less to worry about and more focus on the teen narrator. It's something that's fairly common in most YA novels and I don't even mind it but sometimes it's nice to see an element of normalcy in a story (as in the parents are actually PRESENT) Whisper does that really well :) And The First Novels Club (you know, that site that I lurve and I showed you on twitter has a post about that. You should check it out when you have the chance)

I'm not sure if you already did compliment my layout but either way, thanks! You may be the first one to have pointed out the penguins floating about in the background. Most people usually note the header first ;)
