in my mailbox (15)

This is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren.

To the great dismay and horror surprise of my local librarians, I, the unrelenting Scourge of All Libraries, am now back in action! I've finally paid my massive, gigantic library fines* (why yes, it hurt very badly**). And I meant to check out a gazillion books in celebration but I thought about it and the pain was enough to limit me to fifteen. And here are the books I'm planning to review out of those:

1. Gone by Lisa McMann: Why hello, sentence fragments! I enjoyed both Wake and Fade, so I'm looking forward to reading this final book in the trilogy.

2.North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Hadley: Although this book has the same stock photo as one of my least favorite books, Evermore (review), I'm willing to give a try. It seems to be a good contemporary book with a great message.

3. The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness: I LOVE dystopian fiction. And this book has so much praise tacked onto it that it's mind-boggling. So, so excited.

4. After by Amy Efaw: The cover with all the white is pretty striking, and I've heard good things about this one as well.

5. Wish by Alexandra Bullen: This book has a cool, fun premise and I love how her dress disintegrates into stars. So pretty :)

*I love the library. I do. But it seems that I'm always either paying off fines of accumulating them. Gah.

** *waves goodbye to chunk of savings* But to tell the truth, if I'm going to have to pay fines for anything, I'm most happy to pay money to a library. At least my forgetfulness is leading to some good (more money for the library).

Great books! I almost bought a copy of Knife of Never Letting Go, it looks amazing. And Gone, really good! Hey, at my library, we let the 18 and under crown read off their fines in the library at $4 bucks an hour! Might want to suggest it to your librarian and see if the idea catches on! :)

I just paid a big fine today at the library, like always. I look at it like it's cheaper than buying the books at Barnes and Noble. We just don't get to keep them. Well, the ones I can't find I do.

Nice books this week! They all look really good :)

Hah, I have a fine to pay as well... I never even got to read the book though. So many tour books came through the mail that I ended up neglecting my poor little library book. Oh well! *sighs*

I loved North of Beautiful. It was one of my favorites that I read last year. I hope you enjoy it too. I am hoping to read Wish. I've heard some good things about it.

Aren't libraries great? Fines, not so much, but think of it this way-you're fines are helping to support the library which in turn will mean more books for you to check out, read, and review!

Happy reading :)

Here's what's in my mailbox this week.

LOL, this post made me laugh. Your library has such good books! And just think: all your fines are making their way to the buying of more books... :)

P.S. I agree with you about Evermore. *sigh*

I did like Need. It was very cute. (and refreshing since it had absolutely NO VAMPIRES in it.) Or werewolves. But I haven't read so many books about werewolves that I'm sick of them yet... Anyhoo! Happy reading :)

Congrats on limiting yourself to 15! A little self restraint never hurt anybody.
And can I just say - your library must be AWESOME! Because those are some SUPER books you got!
