Hunger Games 3: Title and cover unveiled!

So I HAD to post this. *loves Hunger Games almost as much as chocolate*

Here's the pretty:
And now we all have to wait until August.

Read more about it here. The stuff from David Levithan is quite funny :)

Hmm, Mockingjay. The rumors that were going around hinted at Victors but I really like Mockingjay. But what does it mean? Thoughts or genius predictions anyone?

Here's what I make of it:

It's cool how the colors of the covers progressed from black to red to blue. The intense shade of red in Catching Fire contrasts with the this third book's sort of mellow blue, which to me suggests a cooling down of things; a resolution. Also, the mockingbird pin has finally come to life and transformed into a real bird (perhaps free will is being liberated at last in Panem?). For The Hunger Games, the bird was a metal pin, in Catching Fire it was looking more lifelike, and in Mockingjay it's finally spreading it's wings. And those round patterns behind the mockingjay have broken apart, which to me might symbolize what happens to Panem and the Capitol--dissolution, change. I'm thinking the Capitol in particular; the dissolving patterns are the center of the book cover, just like the Capitol is the center of Panem. Also, there are three of those circular patterns--which are in the previous book covers too. Does anyone know what those are?

[/failed attempt at analyzing]

*fangirls instead* OMG HUNGER GAMES THREE!!!!

Oh, I love the cover. Very symbolic: Hunger Games was black, symbolizing the despair, Catching Fire red for rebellion and Mockingjay blue for freedon, maybe. I actually haven't read Catching Fire though I have it, coz I'm waiting to read it and the new book together.

Hurry up, August!!

I thought the cover would be dark purple. And I was going with the "The Victors" rumor.
Close enough, right??
Although I love this!

I'm not sure about the title yet - I feel like "The Mockingjay" would have more flow with the rest of the titles. BUT I'll get over it, and it's a gorgeous cover! Can't wait!

I JUST got into The Hunger Games. I loved the series so much, I switched from third person to first person present tense.

It wasn't just the series though, it was a change that I'd been thinking about for a while. My novel just wasn't working in third. But it sounds SO amazing in present tense.

I'm with you on the analyzing of the MOCKINGJAY cover haha. But mostly I'm just sitting on my hands waiting waiting waiting...! (=

I wonder what Suzanne Collins is going to do after she finishes The Hunger Games Trilogy. Oh boy, I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hope she writes another series!!!!
